General Specifications

  • durable 100 x 100 x 5 RHS main frame
  • cable supported wings spreading width in excess of 100ft
  • delivery rates solely determined by air cart capacity
  • hydraulic fold (requiring 2 sets hydraulic lines from tractor)
  • hydraulic latch system operated from tractor seat
  • stainless steel distributors

1.Mounted Urea Boom

  • Features a unique suspension system that reduces shock loading. This is an issue of importance given these machines are often operated at up to 30kph
  • Normally fitted on tow behind air carts, bolted to a sub frame attached to the front of the air cart.
  • Delivery lines face forward, for easy connection with boom
  • Mounting on existing air cart reduces wheel tracks (thus reducing soil compaction)
If mounted on tricycle air carts, it is advisable to replace front wheels with a fixed drawbar to improve towing characteristics

2. Trailed Urea boom

  • Ideally suited to tow between air carts where delivery hoses face rearward.
  • Can be adapted to tow behind carts by rerouting the delivery lines
  • Carried on Land Cruiser tyres with independent suspension
  • Chassis set well clear of ground so as not to interfere with tall crops such as canola
  • Wheel track of individual units are manufactured to match wheel track of owners air cart

The Ashmore Engineering Urea Boom utilizes an existing air seeder cart to spread dry granulated urea in a very even spread over a wide swathe. The tendency of modern farming methods is to put only a limited amount of fertilizer with the grain at seeding time to hasten the seeding programme, and then to spread urea as the crop matures. Since this is often done just prior to a change in weather (utilizing the rain to wash the urea into the soil), windy conditions often prevail. This is where the effectiveness of the urea boom is apparent. The material is carried to a varying number of outlets along the length of the boom from where it is dispersed, thus giving the wind limited opportunity to affect the spread.

The Ashmore Engineering Urea booms' simple construction ensures user-friendly operation. Precision engineering ensures an extremely accurate spreading pattern.
